NWS Upton NY SKYWARN Information:

SKYWARNTM is a nationwide program of the National Weather Service. SKYWARNTM is sponsored by local NWS offices and consists of over 100,000 trained volunteers from the general public who observe and report hazardous weather.
 
Bergen County is 1 of 5 NJ Counties in the County Warning Area (CWA) of the Upton, NY National Weather Service Forecast Office (NWSFO) which is located on the grounds of the Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, NY (please refer to the NWS Upton NY SKYWARNTM Program Website for complete information on their SKYWARNTM Program) 
 
The Upton, NY NWSFO CWA covers the 5 NJ Counties of Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic and Union, as well as New York City, Long Island, the Lower Hudson Valley of New York, Southern Connecticut and the surrounding Coastal Waters. The other 16 NJ Counties are in the CWA of the Mt. Holly, NJ NWSFO (please refer to the NWS Mt Holly NJ SKYWARNTM Program Website for more information on their SKYWARNTM  Program).

Amateur Radio SKYWARNTM Nets For Bergen County NJ:

Bergen County Active SKYWARNTM Nets
When SKYWARNTM is activated for Bergen County NJ, SKYWARNTM Nets are held on the W2PQG 2 meter Amateur Radio Repeater. The frequency is 146.700 Mhz with a - 600 Khz input offset and a PL of 141.3 (Note: PL access normally not required during a SKYWARNTM Net). For non-Amateur Radio listeners, most public safety type Scanners can be programmed to receive this frequency.
