Wind Speed Estimating Guidelines

Note: Please, Always Report Wind Speeds As Accurately As Possible, Not Just As A Range

• 25---31 Mph --- Large tree branches in motion
• 32---38 Mph --- Whole trees in motion
• 39---54 Mph --- Twigs break off trees, impeded walking
• 55---72 Mph --- Damage to chimneys and TV antennas, shallow rooted trees pushed over
• 73--112 Mph -- Peeled off roof surfaces, broken windows, trailer houses overturned
• 113 + Mph ---- Roofs torn off houses, large treees uprooted, trailer houses destroyed
